Don’t have a Squarespace website? That’s not a problem.
The Website Systems and Clarity Audit is platform-agnostic.
I can review websites built on Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, Showit, or a custom platform because the Audit focuses on how effectively your website and digital systems support your business, not on which builder you use.
My implementation and website-build services are primarily Squarespace-based, but you do not need to be on Squarespace to benefit from the Audit.
Something isn’t quite working, but you are not sure where the real problem lies.
Your website was built for you, but you were never properly shown how it works.
You have pieced things together yourself, but the website and systems don’t feel connected
You noticed gaps in your website, messaging or client journey, but weren’t sure what matters most
You are considering a larger investment and want clarity before committing.
more than a list of things to fix
You probably don’t need more recommendations.
You need to know which ones matter.
There are plenty of tools, including AI, that can analyse a website and generate suggestions. A recommendation only becomes useful when it is considered in the context of your business.
This is what the Audit is designed to provide. I look at the pieces individually, but also at how they work together. The outcome is not an exhaustive list of things you could change. It is a thoughtful view of:
what is working
what genuinely needs attention
what should come first
what can wait, and
what may not need changing at all.
WHAT I REVIEW
Key areas that shape your digital presence
Messaging and content
I assess whether the messaging on your key pages is clear, relevant and structured around what visitors need to understand before taking the next step.
This is a strategic messaging review rather than a full copywriting or content-editing service.
Client journey
I look at the journey from arriving on your website through to enquiry, booking, purchase or another meaningful next step.
The aim is to identify where that journey feels clear and connected — and where someone may encounter unnecessary friction.
Website clarity and user experience
I review how clearly your website communicates what you do, who you help and what visitors should do next.
This includes key-page structure, navigation, calls to action, credibility signals, mobile experience and obvious points of friction.
Digital systems & connections
Where relevant, I review the systems supporting that journey, such as forms, email marketing and list building, lead magnets, booking systems, payment processes, automations, and important integrations, including how these systems handle visitor and client data as a matter of good general practice. For South African clients, this also includes a specific POPIA/data compliance review of forms, data collection and consent practices.
The focus is on understanding whether the systems that matter to your client journey are working together effectively.
Search & digital foundations
I review key foundations that affect how easily your website can be understood and found online, including obvious on-page SEO opportunities, page structure, headings, metadata, indexability and analytics or tracking foundations where relevant.
This is a strategic SEO review rather than a comprehensive technical SEO or keyword research review.

Book your audit
Choose the Website & Systems Clarity Audit, with or without the optional Strategy Session.
Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive the next steps.
01
Complete the Audit questionnaire
Tell me about your business, website, audience, goals, current systems and anything that is causing concern or uncertainty.
Where appropriate, I'll also ask for information about the tools involved in your client journey.
02
I complete the review
I work through your website, client journey and relevant digital systems independently.
The aim is not simply to spot individual issues, but to understand how the pieces fit together and identify where changes would make the greatest practical difference.
03
Receive your audit
Within 5–7 business days from receiving your Audit Questionnaire, you'll receive your detailed report and prioritised roadmap.
Take some time to work through the findings and decide what you would like to address.
04
Talk it through, if you choose
If you’ve added the Strategy Session or after your report arrives, we’ll meet by Zoom to talk through the findings, answer your questions, and work through what the priorities mean for your business. The session is recorded, so you can work through it afterwards.
05
What happens next?
You’ll receive clear insights and practical recommendations.
Here are 3 ways you can move forward with confidence.
Act independently
Use the report as your roadmap and address the priorities yourself.
Work with your team
Share the findings with a VA, developer, copywriter or internal team member.
Ask for implementation support
Where useful, we can discuss Website & Systems Implementation or a larger project. Note: my project and implementation work is Squarespace-specific.
Note: The audit is designed to be useful, whether or not you work with me afterwards.
A strategic partner, not just a designer.
I'm Ronél, a Squarespace Web Designer and Digital Strategist
I bring almost 30 years of HR and organisational experience, first-hand experience in building a professional practice, and practical expertise in websites and systems. That means I look beyond individual pages to understand how the whole digital journey supports the business.
I work with a small number of clients at a time, so each Audit receives focused attention and a thoughtful, evidence-based review.
Frequently
Asked Questions
-
You'll complete a questionnaire before I begin. It gives me the business context I need to interpret what I see rather than reviewing your website in isolation.
I'll let you know if I need any additional information.
-
No.
The Website & Systems Clarity Audit is platform-agnostic and can be used for websites built on Squarespace, WordPress, Wix, Showit or a custom platform.
The principles being reviewed — clarity, user journey, systems, search foundations and digital connections — apply regardless of the website builder.
My implementation, support and website-build services are primarily Squarespace-based. If the Audit identifies work on another platform that would be better handled by another specialist, I'll be upfront about that.
-
AI can be very useful for generating observations and possible improvements, and I don't think it should be dismissed.
The difficulty is often not finding more suggestions. It is deciding which recommendations make sense for your particular business and which deserve attention first.
The Audit considers your website in the context of your business model, audience, client journey, existing tools and priorities. I also look at how those pieces connect and make judgement calls about what matters now, what can wait and what may not need changing.
It is designed to provide prioritised decision support, rather than another list of possible improvements.
-
That's absolutely fine.
You don't need a sophisticated website or complicated technology stack to benefit from the Audit.
A simpler setup can often make the important priorities easier to see.
The aim isn't to judge how advanced your website is. It is to understand whether what you have is supporting what your business currently needs.
-
The standard Audit is designed for a typical service-business website and its core client journey.
Very large websites, substantial ecommerce catalogues, membership platforms or particularly complex digital ecosystems may need a separately scoped review.
You are welcome to contact me before you book the audit if you think your setup may fall outside the standard scope.
-
For South African clients, the Audit incudes POPIA/data compliance review; I check your forms, data collection and consent practices against POPIA requirements and flag anything that needs attention. For clients outside South Africa, I still look at good data-handling practice, though it doesn’t reference other countries’ data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA. This isn’t a formal compliance certification for any jurisdiction.
-
No.
SEO is considered as part of your wider digital foundation, including obvious on-page opportunities, site structure, metadata, indexability and related issues where relevant.
Comprehensive technical SEO, competitor research and detailed keyword research fall outside the scope of this Audit.
-
No.
The Audit diagnoses and prioritises.
If you would like hands-on support afterwards, Website & Systems Implementation can be scoped separately around the recommendations you want help carrying out.
-
No.
The Audit has been deliberately designed to stand on its own.
If you'd prefer to receive the findings first and decide afterwards whether you'd benefit from a conversation, you can add the Strategy Session once you've reviewed your report.
-
The Audit provides the diagnosis, findings and prioritised roadmap.
The Strategy Session is a collaborative conversation about those findings.
It is most useful if you want to ask questions, consider different options or work through what the priorities mean in the context of your business before deciding what to do next
-
International clients can pay in USD.
South African clients can pay the published local ZAR price.
Payment details and available payment methods are provided at checkout.
